By using this site, you're agreeing to be bound by the terms and conditions, privacy policy and discussion rules of this site. By registering as a user of this site, the MAV considers you to be a member.

1. Security and corruption
Users or members will not knowingly attempt to transmit, or encourage others to transmit, viruses or malicious programs of any kind to any posted email addresses or the MAV Local Sustainability Website.

You will not attempt to gain illegal access to any component of the MAV Local Sustainability Website. This includes, but is not restricted to, the user information and email addresses of site coordinators and members.

2. Free speech and defamation

3. Terminating membership
If you breach any of our rules, the MAV may at any time and without prior notice and at our sole discretion, remove any post or terminate your membership/subscription. Members may also be suspended for a period of time at any time and at our discretion.

The MAV is not responsible for any actions, claims, proceedings, or liabilities arising out of your violation of the MAV Local Sustainability Website’s  terms and conditions. You are responsible for all statements made by you, and for acts that occur through the use of your username and password.

4. Disclaimer of warranties and liabilities
From time to time, the members of the MAV Local Sustainability Website may provide commentary on a broad range of issues, organisations and government in Melbourne, Australia and elsewhere.

The MAV cannot and does not warrant the completeness or accuracy of the content found on our site, or its usefulness for any particular purpose. Nor do we represent or warrant that the content on the site complies with the laws of any country. When you access the site you do so at your own risk. While we try to keep the site open and functioning day and night, we can't promise that the site will be available uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

We also reserve the right to be wrong, and to post retractions and apologies when we're asked nicely, when we consider them to be necessary, and of course, at our discretion. 5. Member liability
Members agree to indemnify us and our officers, employees and agents, against all claims, demands, damages, costs, penalties and liabilities caused by your breach of these terms and conditions or the forum rules.
 
6. Jurisdiction
The law applicable to use of the MAV Local Sustainability Website is the law of the State of Victoria, Australia.

7. Copyright
(c) Municipal Association of Victoria 2007. All rights reserved. Please contact us for permission to reproduce any content. Where a document is included or submitted by a council or other body, copyright remains with that body and permission should be sought from that body. The MAV encourages members to post documents where the Intellectual Property is unrestricted.

8. Fees and Charges
While the registration is free to local government councillors and employees the MAV reserves the right to introduce registration fees for other users in the future.
